Reduction
techniques and costs last udated : 30/03/2004
Whatever the pollutant, parameters
to take into account for choosing a control technique are :
- The required level of emission
reduction (initial emission, regulatory constraint, …)
- Characteristic of exhaust gases
(gaseous flow, pollutant flow, temperature, humidity, …)
- Suitable location for installing
the treatment device
- Nature of by-products (liquid or
solid)
- Waste generation (with possibility
for recovery or not)
- Possible changes in efficiency
through stricter regulations
- Investment and operating costs.
Some examples of techniques used for
emission control :
Sulphur oxides Nitrogen
oxides Particles VOCs
