On 13 and 14 April 2021, Citepa participated remotely in a validation workshop for the update of Albania’s National Determined Contribution (NDC) in the framework of the Paris Agreement. While the country’s first NDC, introduced in 2015, focused solely on CO₂ in the energy production and consumption sector, this new NDC covers all greenhouse gases and sectors.

A consortium was drawn up in 2020 between Baastel and Citepa to help update Albania’s NDC. Citepa has thus carried out the updating of inventory and projection calculations for the energy, industry, agriculture, waste and LULUCF (land-use and forestry) sectors.

The final document will be formally submitted by Albania to the UNFCCC.
